Corfu Carnival
Carnival is celebrated in Greece around mid February (last day of Carnival is before the 40-day lent leading to Orthodox Easter) The third and last Sunday of the carnival, a fancy-dress parade ends with the final burning of King Carnival, with the symbolic burning of all evil and the ‘notaries’ accompanying him read his will that is usually full of innuendos aimed at politicians.
This is followed celebration by dances and songs all night and fancy dress parties all around the island.
